For me, ABBA is pure joy.

My goal for this project was to create something that felt like pure joy. Around the time I started working on this project, I was also working on a lot of pieces that dealt with heavier issues like immigration and racial microaggressions and I wanted to create a disco-to-go boxed set that would lift me (and whoever else might open the velvet-lined lid) up. The innocuous wooden box contains within it one cassette player, three cassettes, one music catalogue, and one mini light-sensitive disco ball

I set up the overall design of the catalogue to mirror the proportions of a cassette tape. The colours and textures are inspired by ABBA’s incredible — and often ridiculous — wardrobe. This wiro bound booklet was built through the layering of papers of different sizes, textures, shine and opacity.
